Irving Cares is in the crisis business - helping Irving families who are experiencing a financial crisis. Over one-third of Irving residents live below the poverty line and over 85% of children in Irving live in economically disadvantaged homes. These families face uncertainty with food, shelter, and basic needs. Without help they will face even more uncertainty and despair - starting down a slippery slope of continued poverty, hunger, eviction, and possible homelessness. That's why Irving Cares is here - to lift families out of poverty to be self-sufficient and stable - giving them a hand-up out of poverty and a path to a better future.

Since its founding 56 years ago, Metrocare, formerly known as Dallas County MHMR, has been on the front lines in the fight to bring accessible, high-quality mental health care and developmental disability services to our most vulnerable neighbors. Throughout Metrocare’s 13 locations and our vast array of community-based services, we provide primary and preventative care, mental health services, accessible pharmacies, housing, veteran services, re-entry support, crisis intervention, early childhood intervention, autism services, day habilitation programs and more. As the largest provider of behavioral health services in Dallas County, we provide reliable, same-day psychiatric care to adults and children in need. Our housing program, one of the largest in North Texas, focuses on permanent supportive housing for those facing behavioral health challenges. In FY23, across all of our programs, Metrocare served 51,373 children and adults – and the need continues to grow.
