With a focus in preventive care, BAPS Charities organized its annual Health Fair throughout North America as a part of its global health and wellness initiative.
On October 12, 2014, 14 physicians and health care professionals volunteered at the BAPS Charities Health Fair in Newport News, VA. Altogether, 141 attendees from the local community were able to take advantage of and benefit from various medical care and awareness offerings:
Number of patients seen by specialty: Internal Medicine/Family practice (129), Dentistry (24), Orthopedic and Pain Management (16), Physiotherapy (6)
Number of Lab tests conducted: CBC (100), Basic metabolic and Lipid panel (100), Thyroid function test (100), Hemoglobin (100)
Number of Screening and Diagnostic Tests: Blood pressure (129), Dental screening (81), Vision screening (53), Hearing screening (53)
