Influenza (“flu”) is a contagious disease, caused by the influenza virus, which can be spread by coughing, sneezing or nasal secretions. On average, 226,000 people are hospitalized every year because of influenza and 36,000 die – mostly elderly. (Source: CDC).
The influenza vaccine prevents influenza, hence, a Flu Vaccination Drive was organized by BAPS Charities in Virginia Beach, VA on October 11, 2015 benefitting 142 participants.
