On June 23, 2024, BAPS Charities hosted its annual “In the Joy of Others: Walk-Run” in Seattle, WA, to benefit The Redmond Police Foundation. The event drew community members from the entire Puget Sound area, who supported the foundation’s mission to enhance the training and resources available to Redmond Police Services. Participants ranged from youths to seniors, all coming together for a common cause.
Ray Massey of the Redmond Police Foundation expressed gratitude for BAPS Charities’ partnership, emphasizing the importance of strengthening community ties and providing essential tools and training to improve police services in Redmond.
Mayor Lynn Robinson of Bellevue praised the event, stating, “Any day you make life better for someone else is a good day. And today is a great day.”
State Representative Slater highlighted the walkathon’s role in promoting health and well-being for participants and the broader community they represent.
Mr. Prakash Gupta, Consulate General of India in Seattle, also attended. He thanked the dignitaries on behalf of the consulate and praised BAPS Charities for its role in fostering strong community partnerships.
The event underscored the value of community involvement in promoting healthier lifestyles and addressing local needs and challenges.
