Global food insecurity is skyrocketing, fueled by a potent cocktail of inflation, war, and climate change. The U.S. is no exception, as a recent report by the Department of Agriculture paints a stark picture: hunger surged in 2022, impacting an estimated 44.2 million people – a sharp increase from 33.8 million the year before. This translates to more than 13 million children facing food insecurity, a staggering 45% jump from just 2021. BAPS Charities organized a Food Drive in Seattle, WA, from October 1st to December 17th, collecting 468 pounds of food. This significant donation, contributed by families, children, youth, and volunteers of BAPS Charities, was donated to Food Lifeline. Food Lifeline is on a mission to end hunger in Western Washington. It believes that access to food is a human right and that nobody deserves to be hungry. They strive to provide nutritious food to hundreds of thousands of people facing hunger annually by sourcing nutritious food from various food industry partners.BAPS Charities thanks all volunteers and donors of diverse ages and backgrounds who came together to help the community.
