Inflation, war, the COVID pandemic, and climate change are impacting food insecurity around the globe and across the US. According to the US Department of Agriculture, over 33.8 million people in the USA live in food-insecure households, meaning these households were uncertain of having or unable to acquire enough food to meet the needs of all their members.
BAPS Charities organized a Food Drive in Seattle, WA, from October 1st to November 20, collecting 737 pounds of food which is equivalent to 885 meals, and donated it to Food Lifeline.
Food Lifeline is on a mission to end hunger in Western Washington. It believes that access to food is a human right and that nobody deserves to be hungry. They strive to provide nutritious food to hundreds of thousands of people facing hunger every year by sourcing nutritious food from a variety of food industry partners.
BAPS Charities thanks all volunteers and donors of diverse ages and backgrounds who came together to help the community.
