With a focus on preventative care, BAPS Charities organized its annual Health Fair throughout North America as part of its global health and wellness initiatives.
On September 20, 2014, 30 physicians and health care professionals volunteered at the BAPS Charities Health Fair in San Jose, CA. Altogether, over 200 attendees from the local community were able to take advantage of and benefit from various medical care and awareness offerings:
Number of patients seen by specialty: Internal Medicine/Family practice (140), Cardiology (50), Podiatry (30), Dentistry (120), Physical Therapy (40), Surgeon (15), Obstetrician (15), Pediatrician (10), Oncologist (8), and Homeopathy (30).
Number of Lab tests conducted: CBC (81), Basic metabolic panel (81), Chem panel, Lipid panel, TSH and Anemia panel (81), Hemoglobin A1C (20)
Number of Screening and Diagnostic Tests: Blood pressure (185), Dental exam (50), Glucose Screening (41), Cholesterol check (41)
