As part of several efforts to help community members cope with COVID-19, volunteers from BAPS Charities delivered care packages to senior citizen facilities across the State of New Jersey. Government authorities advise that senior citizens are especially vulnerable to severe illness from exposure to the coronavirus, and with the closure of many businesses, elder care centers may face food supply disruptions and shortages.
To help protect seniors and fulfill a crucial need, volunteers from BAPS Charities delivered these care packages consisting of various nutritious-vegetarian snacks and drinks. Joy Scaccetti-Tozzi, Business Administrator at the Robbinsville Township Senior Center, said, “super shout out to the wonderful people at BAPS.” BAPS Charities and its volunteers welcome the opportunity to serve seniors and help them stay safe and healthy.
Volunteers from BAPS Charities locations across the world are assessing situations on how to help local communities.
