On June 8th, 2024, BAPS Charities hosted its annual “In the Joy of Others: Walk-Run” in Raleigh, NC, to support the Cary and Morrisville Police Departments. The Walk united community members in a collective effort to raise awareness for both Police Departments’ efforts in keeping our communities safe through various programs.
Over 700 community members attended the event this year, including Mayor ProTem Garimella and other council members from the Towns of Morrisville and Cary. Also in attendance were Town Manager Zudeima, Police Chief Acosta from Morrisville, and Police Officer Robert from Cary. The event showcased a broad spectrum of participation, from youth to seniors, united for a common cause.
Town of Morrisville Manager Brandon Zudeima reflected on the event’s significance, saying that community events like the BAPS Charities Walkathon help create the fabric of a stronger community.
The event not only provided an opportunity for participants to engage in living a healthier lifestyle but also served as a reminder of the profound impact collective efforts can have in addressing local needs and challenges.
