As countless Americans continue to practice social distancing to decrease the spread of the coronavirus, healthcare workers and emergency service providers are working tirelessly to treat those affected by COVID-19. Between April 13, 2020 – April 16, 2020, BAPS Charities donated a total of 1,100 surgical masks to four different sites where frontline workers need personal protective equipment: Duke Regional Hospital, UNC Rex Hospital, Morrisville Fire/Rescue Department, and Wake County Government
Wake County Commissioner Sig Hutchinson accepted the donation on behalf of the Wake County (North Carolina) and remarked “The masks that were donated were very helpful and so appreciated. My staff really appreciates your generosity. And I am so glad to be able to keep them safe.”
Nathan Lozinsky, Assistant Fire Chief accepted the donation on behalf of the Morrisville Fire/Rescue Department, Assistant Fire Chief Nathan Lozinsky accepted the donation and remarked, “Thank you BAPS Charities for your generous donation for N95 masks. These have been difficult to find and the masks are a welcome sight.”
BAPS Charities is grateful to its volunteers for helping to keep the community healthy. Beyond the recent donation, BAPS Charities has organized and implemented several online awareness campaigns for the community on how to stay healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
