On June 8, 2024, BAPS Charities held its annual “In the Joy of Others: Walk-Run” in Chantilly, VA, with proceeds supporting The Lamb Center. The event united local residents in a collective effort to raise awareness and address homelessness in Fairfax County.
The walk attracted nearly 450 participants, including notable figures such as Virginia State Senator Suhas Subramanyam and CEOs Lax Chepuri of TechnoGen Inc. and Lax Gopisetty of Infosys Public Sector. Their participation helped bolster support for The Lamb Center, which provides essential services to the homeless at no cost, including meals, laundry, healthcare, and counseling.
Wendy Baird, Director of Development at The Lamb Center, expressed gratitude, stating, “All of us at the Lamb Center are so grateful to BAPS Charities for your very generous support of our guests. Your contribution will help the hundreds of people experiencing homelessness we serve access meals, jobs, health care, and other critical services all year long.”
This event did more than promote physical health; it underscored the significant impact of community collaboration in tackling local issues and challenges.
