Thomas Tighe, President and CEO of Direct Relief, thanks BAPS Charities supporters for their contributions to aiding relief efforts in Nepal as a cargo flight unloads the first shipment of what will total 178,000 lbs, of medical supplies.
BAPS Charities provided funds for two portable X-ray machines and vital medications, all specifically requested by the Ministry of Health. Direct Relief provides medication and medical supplies to community health clinics and healthcare providers in over 70 countries around the world and across all 50 states, free of cost. Using an existing partnership, built over several years with healthcare providers in Nepal, Direct Relief is responding to the disaster with operations on the ground.
