On July 14, 2024, BAPS Charities hosted its annual “In the Joy of Others: Walk-Run” in New Castle, DE. This year’s walk united over 250 community members who joined the effort to support BAPS Charities. BAPS Charities engages in numerous activities to provide philanthropic support to community organizations throughout North America, working with them to address education, health, and other challenges facing local populations. In the past 20 years, over 1,000 walkathons have been organized, providing financial support to local hospitals, children’s organizations, township entities, school systems, environmental causes, and various health issues, including cancer and heart disease.
In addition to walkathons, BAPS Charities organizes health awareness lectures, health fairs, blood and bone marrow drives, and flu vaccination drives. BAPS Charities also holds food drives, children’s health and safety days, and community activities, providing disaster relief, educational support, and environmental initiatives, partnering with local organizations to address various community challenges.
The event showcased a broad spectrum of participation, from youth to seniors, united for a common cause. The event allowed participants to engage in a healthier lifestyle and reminded them of the profound impact collective efforts can have in addressing local needs and challenges.
