BAPS Charities hosted a virtual event, In The Joy of Others: Walk | Run 2021 in Nashville, TN during the month of June, which had over 180 participants to support Susan G. Komen and their efforts to raise awareness and research treatments for breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S. and around the world. Across all walks of life, women & even men are affected by breast cancer directly or indirectly. Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest nonprofit source of funding for the fight again breast cancer and directs its funds towards activities such as research, outreach, and advocacy.
Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, over 11,000 walkers & runners joined the virtual events in over 70 cities to together take over 200 million steps, far exceeding the initial goal of 100 million steps. With the donated funds from events such as this walk, BAPS Charities can conduct many local and global charitable and humanitarian services.
