BAPS Charities, in partnership with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Covered California, hosted enrollment events across the country for individuals seeking to obtain health insurance through health insurance exchanges set up under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
In Los Angeles, CA, BAPS Charities organized an ACA enrollment drive on January 9 and 23, 2022. Covered California representatives helped nearly 40 participants through the enrollment process.
The Affordable Care Act aims to make affordable health insurance available to more people, by providing consumers with subsidies that lower the costs for low-income households. Local participants were given guidance on necessary documentation as well as marketplace application checklists, to help them successfully navigate the complex area of health insurance coverage.
