On June 1, 2024, BAPS Charities hosted its annual “In the Joy of Others: Walk-Run” in Knoxville, TN, to support the Education Equal Opportunity Group (EEOG). The Walk brought together local community members to take steps together and engage in selfless service to support the EEOG, a nonprofit organization committed to decreasing the educational, social, and economic disparities among “at-risk” high school students by providing them access to the resources and guidance necessary to excel.
This year, nearly 200 community members, including Tennessee State Representative Sam McKenzie, joined the effort to support EEOG and their mission to invest in students, creating meaningful experiences and providing positive pathways for their success. The event showcased a broad spectrum of participation, from youth to seniors, united for a common cause.
The event not only provided an opportunity for participants to engage in living a healthier lifestyle but also served as a reminder of the profound impact collective efforts can have in addressing local needs and challenges.
