Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness and, at times, can lead to death. According to a CDC study, between 3 percent (9.93 million) and 11 percent (36.41 million) of the U.S. population gets infected and develops flu symptoms yearly.
Vaccination is the most effective way to avoid the flu; hence, BAPS Charities organized a Flu Vaccination Drive in Knoxville, TN, on November 10, 2024, which benefitted 45 community members.
