COVID-19 has made 2021 a challenging year in many aspects for all, the pandemic has negatively impacted not just the health aspect but also the economy and the financial strength of many. For some, the loss of income has led to food insecurity and the thought of getting hold of essential items became impossible.
In order to help provide nourishing food to those struggling families and individuals, BAPS Charities organized a food drive in Hartford, CT from November 21 through November 28, 2021. Over 1500 canned and dry food items were collected and donated to the Town of Newington Department of Human Services. Donations were collected while observing appropriate masking and social distance guidelines to protect the health of everyone involved.
Thanking BAPS Charities, Beth DelBuono, the Mayor of Newington, CT, said, “BAPS Charities has been a long-standing community partner that goes above and beyond to fill the needs in our community.”
