On June 29, 2020, BAPS Charities donated $5,000 to the Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center located in Edison, NJ.
JFK Medical Center’s ‘Chief Executive’s Daily News Article’ noted: “BAPS Charities have been true to their mission, ‘The Spirit of Service in Action’ throughout the pandemic by delivering close to 2,000 individually packaged meals for our front-line staff, especially on the weekends and several deliveries of miscellaneous PPE and hand sanitizers. We are humbled and very much appreciate the generosity, kindness, and service of BAPS Charities and its volunteers during these difficult times.”
BAPS Charities recognizes the resilience and selflessness of healthcare personnel on the front lines battling COVID-19 on a daily basis. As part of its ongoing initiatives, BAPS Charities distributed prepackaged hot vegetarian meals throughout New Jersey and beyond every week. Srikanth Jaikumar, Vice President, Ambulatory Services and Program Development, accepted the hot meal donations on behalf of JFK Medical center and expressed immense gratitude for BAPS Charities continuing efforts over the past several months. On one of these occasions, Mr. Jaikumar noted, “I personally delivered the food packets to all but two departments today. It was one of the most gratifying things that I have done in the last month to see the joy and gratitude of the staff to get hot meals delivered to them when they have not had the time to even step out to get food because they’re all working so shorthanded. Thank you for making it happen.”
BAPS Charities harnesses the efforts and collective spirit of volunteers around the world to serve individuals, families, and communities in five key areas: Community Empowerment, Educational Services, Environmental Protection & Preservation, Health & Wellness, and Humanitarian Relief. Taken together, these initiatives empower individuals to volunteer their time and resources to create a better community, nation, and world.
