Due to a rising number of COVID-19 cases throughout Maryland, many healthcare facilities combating the pandemic face possible shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE). As a result of these potential shortages, PPE needs of local law enforcement get overlooked. The lack of PPE seriously affects the ability of police officers to protect themselves as they serve our communities.
In support of our police officers, BAPS Charities donated 500 N95 face masks to the Prince George’s County Police Department. Appreciating the donation, Police Chief Henry P. Stawinski III said, “The police department is amazed at how giving our citizens are and willing to support us in any way necessary.”
BAPS Charities chapters worldwide continue to assess the impact of COVID-19 and provide support via financial and food donations to impacted communities and organizations.
