COVID-19 has made 2021 a challenging year in many aspects for all, the pandemic has negatively impacted not just the health aspect but also the economy and the financial strength of many. For some, the loss of income has led to food insecurity and the thought of getting hold of essential items became impossible.
In order to help provide nourishing food to those struggling families and individuals, BAPS Charities organized a food drive in Washington, DC from October 31 through November 21, 2021. Over 262 canned and dry food items were collected and donated to the Maryland Food Bank. Donations were collected while observing appropriate masking and social distance guidelines to protect the health of everyone involved. BAPS Charities thanks all of the volunteers and donors of diverse ages and backgrounds who came together to help the community.
