The COVID-19 Pandemic has made many people keen for new experiences and a chance to travel again. Searching for freedom, new experiences, to attend events, or to fill their bucket list, travelers feel ready to book their dream vacation this winter.
According to available medical research, about 22 % to 64% of international travelers become ill during or after travel. To provide timely information to travelers to help them plan and take preventive measures, BAPS Charities organized a health awareness lecture in Calhoun, GA, on November 27, 2022.
The health awareness lecture, presented by Jagdish Shankhala, covered detailed information about various health issues that may affect a traveler. In addition, participants were advised to speak to their healthcare provider 4 to 6 weeks before their travel dates to discuss medications, needed vaccinations, and other preventative measures. As a result, attendees left the health awareness lecture better prepared for their upcoming winter travel.
