On April 17, 2020, BAPS Charities donated surgical masks, N95 masks, and hand sanitizer to the police departments of three Massachusetts cities – Lowell, Tyngsborough, and Chelmsford. With thousands of COVID-19 cases in Massachusetts, first responders are at high risk of being infected.
Deputy Chief Dan Ahern of the Chelmsford Police Department said, “Thank you for providing such valuable resources at this difficult time.”
“We are deeply touched by this initiative and grateful for BAPS Charities stepping up to help out during this critical time. Such strong support is not only imperative to our response but a great morale boost for our staff” echoed a representative of the Lowell Police Department.
A representative of the Tyngsborough Police Department elaborated, “Masks are what we need most. Domestic calls are on the rise and we end up using masks on each call! I can’t thank you enough for your service. It’s amazing work you are doing.”
As the global pandemic continues to unfold, BAPS Charities will continue to look for ways to support frontline responders and those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
