According to the National Headache Foundation, over 45 million Americans suffer from chronic, recurring headaches and of these, 28 million suffer from migraines. In fact, 150 diagnostic headache categories have been established! BAPS Charities organized a lecture on Headache on June 26, 2011 at over 50 centers in North America to educate the participants of the health lecture on the types of headaches and discussed the most common types of headaches – tension headache, migraines, cluster headaches and sinus headaches. The presentation also discussed how lifestyle changes, learning ways to relax and taking pain relievers can help. The participants also learned that sometimes headaches warn of a more serious disorder so they should contact their health care provider if they have sudden, severe headaches or have a headache along with a stiff neck, fever, confusion, loss of consciousness or pain in the eye or ear.
