Volunteers from BAPS Charities in Wellingborough collected food for the needy and homeless in December 2020 as part of its on-going commitment to serve the local community. The collection was part of a nationwide drive across 12 centres around the UK, with BAPS Charities supporting a number of local charities during this particularly difficult time.
This year’s collective effort did not include clothing due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions. However, 95 cans and several kilos of fresh and packaged produce was deposited at Kettering Community Unit, a long-established local charity providing education, training and support for the unemployed, unwaged and low-income households of Kettering and surrounding areas.
Milan Patel, a lead volunteer for BAPS Charities, shared, “It has been the most testing of times this year for the vulnerable, especially in the unique situation we are going through. Kettering Community Unit has continued with their remarkable efforts helping to improve the lives of those facing tough periods.”
