BAPS Charities has partnered with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation in their ‘Wellbeing for You’ programme to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle for the local community.
Tottenham Hotspur will be supporting the community to lead healthier lifestyles and empower them to take ownership of their own health.
The following 3 types of activities will be available:
- Shape Up with Spurs
This is a 10-week weight management programme incorporating nutrition workshops and physical activity sessions. The programme includes nutrition workshops focused on healthy eating, portion sizes, label reading and cooking. Exercise and multi-sports sessions will explain and promote the importance of being active, while there will be on-going support to continue being physically active and managing weight and health risks.
- Healthy Walks
Participants will be helped to increase physical activity levels and socialise with other members of the community by engaging in regular walks around local parks and areas. Regular activity will keep our bodies happy and healthy!
- Yoga Classes
Yoga focuses on stretching, strength and breathing to improve physical and mental wellbeing. Suitable for all abilities, yoga helps meet muscle strength recommendations and can help improve balance and coordination. Short yoga courses will be available.
