BAPS Charities hosted a charity golf day at the picturesque Moor Park Golf Club in Hertfordshire on 1 June 2016. The event was planned by ‘Helping Hand’, a group of golfing enthusiasts, and supported by volunteers from BAPS Charities.
Moor Park Golf Club is a stunning championship golf course replete with a 17th century Grade I-listed mansion set over 300 acres of landscaped Hertfordshire parkland.
More than 72 players braved the challenging weather and playing conditions to demonstrate their commitment to raise money for good causes. Participants enjoyed the healthy competition before joining as a group for the awards ceremony.
The event raised more than £15,000 for two BAPS Charities projects that serve tribal and underserved areas of south eastern Gujarat through the provision of educational services and hostels.
Raj Soneji, a BAPS Charities volunteer, said, “We’re very grateful to everyone who helped organise this event and to the players for making it a thoroughly enjoyable day. The funds that were raised will make a positive and lasting difference to hundreds of underprivileged schoolchildren in India.”
