Volunteers from BAPS Charities in Birmingham collected food for the needy and homeless in December 2020 as part of its on-going commitment to serve the local community. The collection was part of a nationwide drive across 12 centres around the UK, with BAPS Charities supporting a number of local charities during this particularly difficult time.
The donations included soup cans, beans cans, pasta, cereals, apple pies and other types of food, which were deposited at The Sparkhill Foodbank, a charity that is helping those in need across Birmingham.
Kalpesh Chauhan, a lead volunteer for BAPS Charities, shared, “This is a particularly challenging time of year for the vulnerable in Birmingham, which has been exacerbated by the pandemic. The work of The Sparkhill Foodbank is truly heartwarming and we hope our donation can bring some comfort to those in need.”
