The Help2Kids Orphanage was founded in 2010 by Help2kids International, a Swiss NGO that operates in Africa. The orphanage is located in the Mbezi area, which is approximately 20 kilometers from Dar es Salaam. 31 children reside in the home, whose age groups range from 4 to 18 years. In addition to housing, the orphanage provides basic necessities that all children deserve; education, food, healthcare, and a family environment to grow up in. The goal of the NGO is to help the children break the cycle of poverty, and live productive lives.
Upon arrival at the orphanage, Ms. Mari Yogi greeted BAPS Charities volunteers and Dr. Partha Das and his medical team (Mrs. Benedicta Shirima, Mrs. Diana Mrs. Mwaibola, Mrs. Rozina Mnahuva and Ms. Sameera Fazal). Volunteers were introduced to and played with the children in the playground. Volunteers also unloaded the food and supplies for the orphanage including gift packs for each of the children. Dr. Das also provided medical checkups and necessary medication was prescribed and provided to all of those in need.
