Given the high infection rates of COVID-19 in the Kwazulu-Natal province, BAPS Charities South Africa has partnered with local charity organisations to help distribute food and medical supplies to various organisations and communities in need.
The Phoenix Child Welfare society, ABH Children’s home in Chatsworth and destitute families in the Cato Crest area in Manor Gardens, Durban were recipients of food and medicals hampers. The national lockdown implemented by the South African government has made it a challenge for people within these communities to access food and medical supplies.
BAPS Charities South Africa is thankful to all sponsors and volunteers. With the national lockdown extended, more families in our communities will be in need of food and medical supplies in the weeks and months to come. With this in mind, BAPS Charities will be providing hot meals to approximately 200 children from informal and impoverished settlements in the Clairwood area on a weekly basis during the duration of the lockdown.
