Tropical Cyclone Idai was one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to affect Africa and the Southern Hemisphere. The long-lived storm caused catastrophic damage in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, leaving more than 1,000 people dead and thousands more missing.
BAPS Charities South Africa responded to this disaster and provided relief to those affected. Teams from across the country ran collection drives for monetary donations, clothing, shoes, blankets, and non-perishable food items.
BAPS Charities South Africa partnered with the Gift of the Givers, who took care of distributing the collected items to the areas in the affected countries.
