On 18 April 2020, BAPS Charities donated 1500 surgical masks and face shields to the Molecular Haematology and Virology Laboratory of Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Laboratory is at the forefront of testing for COVID-19 in the Gauteng province.
BAPS Volunteers were received by Dr. Irene Ketseoglu, Principal Medical Scientist of the department. The department was promised future assistance as COVID-19 testing continues throughout the province.
