On Wednesday, 15 April 2020, BAPS Charities volunteers in Johannesburg distributed over 40 food and hygiene packs to households in the Northriding area of Johannesburg. The distribution was made at the behest of local ward officials as a result of the growing partnership between BAPS Charities and officials in the area. The hampers included basic personal hygiene items such as toothpaste, soap, sanitizers and washing powder. Food items included bottled water, tin food, sugar, rice, tea, milk and salt.
BAPS Charities will continue to work with local officials in the Northriding area to support and care for the vulnerable during the national lockdown crisis.
