Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person’s thoughts, behaviour, feelings and sense of well-being. People with depressed mood can feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable or restless. It may affect how one feels, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. One may experience trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and depression may make you feel as if life isn’t worth living.
BAPS Charities recognises the importance of an individual and society to lead a healthy life, be it physical or mental. Join us for a special talk by Dr. Ajay Makan, specialist Psychiatrist from Johannesburg, who will speak on the topic of depression; its causes and ways to treat the illness.
*Please note that the talk will be approximately 40 minutes long and will take place between 5pm and 7pm*
