On Monday, April 13, 2020, BAPS Charities donated 5,000 pieces of personal protective equipment, all Level 3 surgical masks, to the Martin Luther King Community Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. In addition, BAPS Charities donated over 1,300 packaged snacks and beverages to the hospital for medical personnel working day and night during the coronavirus pandemic.
Meeting the increased demand for PPE has become the top priority for many hospitals across America. Jonathan Westall, Vice President, Ancillary Services, said, “We at Martin Luther King Community Hospital are so grateful for BAPS Charities stepping up to help out during this critical time. Shows of support are not only imperative to our response but a great morale boost for our staff.”
With hospitals overwhelmed and frontline medical personnel working around the clock, BAPS Charities has taken the initiative to help healthcare workers protect themselves as they risk their lives to save others.
As the global pandemic continues to unfold, BAPS Charities will continue looking for ways to support these brave healthcare workers.
