With its unprecedented impact on the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has left many urgently seeking help and treatment. BAPS Charities has mobilized its volunteers across the country and around the world to provide support during these trying times. At the forefront of the pandemic are the frontline workers who are selflessly sacrificing their own well-being to serve their communities.
In gratitude and recognition of the heroic services provided by frontline workers, BAPS Charities donated 2,500 pieces of personal protective equipment to the Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT which included N95 masks, heavy-duty plastic aprons, glass shields, gloves, and disposable towels and disinfecting wipes.
In expressing appreciation to BAPS Charities, Lorraine Lee, Vice President of Corporate Pharmacy and Supply Chain Services for Yale New Haven Health stated, “We were humbled to receive these thousands of needed supplies, including N95 masks, and of course thankful to put them to good use to better ensure the safety of us all.”
BAPS Charities also donated 1,250 pieces of personal protective equipment in New Haven, CT to the Milford Fire Department, Milford Police Department, Milford Health Department, and Milford City Department.
Mr. Benjamin Blake, Mayor of the city of Milford, applauded the donation of masks on behalf of the city and reiterated his appreciation of the remarkable effort in support of essential workers during this difficult time.
Beyond the recent donation, BAPS Charities has organized and implemented several online awareness campaigns for the community on how to stay healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. BAPS Charities volunteers from locations throughout the world are continuously assessing the situation in order to aid local communities.
