As the entire global community faces the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the local town officials, the police and fire department along with the health care workers are at the forefront of this fight and provide selfless services in these times of dire need.
Recognizing these contributions, on May 12, 2020, the local chapter of BAPS Charities in Newington, CT with the support of its volunteers presented a donation of 1,000 protective masks to the Town of Newington, Newington Volunteer Fire department and the Newington Police department. The donation consisted of handcrafted masks made in accordance with the guidelines provided by the CDC, N95 masks and disposable surgical masks.
