COVID-19 cases are rising rapidly in the United States, and with a recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the Chicago area, it is truly a time like no other in the modern-day history of our country.
On April 8, 2020, the volunteers from BAPS Charities in Chicago, IL delivered 2,000 medical gloves and other supplies to the Bartlett Police Department. The supplies will be used as part of concerted efforts by the police department to serve and protect the community while also protecting themselves. The lack of personal protective equipment or PPE affects the ability of the police officers to protect themselves while being out in the community.
Sergeant Kyle Rybaski said, “On behalf of the Bartlett Police Department, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to BAPS Charities for your service in donating 2,000 medical gloves and over 1,500 paper bags to our Department. These paper bags allow our officers to store their N95 masks in a clean environment between uses. Your support will aid us in staying healthy and allow us to better serve the community. Together we will beat this! Stay safe and healthy.”
BAPS Charities is grateful to its volunteers for helping to keep the community healthy. Beyond the recent donation, BAPS Charities has organized and implemented several online awareness campaigns for the community on how to stay healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers from locations throughout the world are assessing situations on how to help local communities.
