On November 13, 2023, the Nakuru chapter of BAPS Charities Kenya planted 1,000 trees at the Kenyatta Barracks in Gilgil as part of the National Tree Growing Day.
The Government of Kenya had designated this day as a public holiday to encourage public participation in tree planting. This initiative aligns with the country’s Landscape and Ecosystem Restoration Programme, aiming to grow 15 billion trees.
BAPS Charities volunteers worked hand in hand with the military personnel at the Barracks to carry out this planting exercise. As part of its key area of Environmental Protection, BAPS Charities actively engages in such initiatives to contribute to the lasting positive impact on the environment.
