On May 10, 2024, in a show of solidarity for those affected by the floods in Kenya and in support of the National Tree Growing Day initiative by the government, the Mombasa chapter of BAPS Charities Kenya planted 1,000 mangrove trees along the Kenyan coast.
Despite facing heavy rainfall during the planting, volunteers from BAPS Charities worked alongside local authorities and the Kenya Forest Service. This effort is part of BAPS Charities’ commitment to Environmental Protection, with a total of 7,750 trees already planted during the rainy season of 2024. These endeavors are in line with Kenya’s Landscape and Ecosystem Restoration Program, which aims to plant 15 billion trees by 2032 to significantly address global climate change.
