On Wednesday, 13th April 2022, the BAPS Charities Nairobi team donated 800 pieces of clothing to the Langata Women’s Prison. At this time, the prison had 632 inmates, and 35 children staying with their inmate mothers.
The donations were warmly received by the Officer In Charge Ms Esther C. Lochoto (SSP) and her team. The donated clothes consisted of assorted tops that would assist the inmates with decent attire upon completion of their sentences.
Ms Esther voiced her heartfelt appreciation and stated that the inmates were serving different terms and the attire would aid in boosting their self esteem upon release. She also passionately expressed her concern for the rehabilitation of the inmates and thanked BAPS Charities for the kind contribution towards supporting this cause.
