On Sunday 14th April 2024, during Phase 1 of a Nationwide Tree planting drive, BAPS Charities chapters across Kenya planted a total of 4,750 seedlings to play a part in mitigating climate change.
Climate change poses one of the greatest challenges of our time, with wide-spread impacts to ecosystems and communities around the world. The significance of these tree planting exercises is our commitment to protecting the planet and preserving its natural resources for generations to come. By planting trees, we are not only mitigating the impacts of climate change but also creating green spaces that enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, and secure our water sources.
In Phase 1, each chapter collaborated with environmentally focused organizations in their localities to plant the following number of seedlings:
1. Nairobi – 2,500
2. Nakuru – 1,500
3. Bomet – 550
4. Kakamega – 100
5. Thika – 100
Phase 2 of the tree planting campaign is scheduled for Sunday, April 21st, 2024, during which more chapters across Kenya will join in the planting effort.
Together, let’s plant the seeds of change and cultivate a greener, more sustainable world for future generations.
