On Sunday 28th April 2024, during Phase 3 of a Nationwide Tree planting drive, BAPS Charities Kisumu planted a total of 450 seedlings, bringing the total planted seedlings for this project to 7,200.
Climate change poses one of the greatest challenges of our time, with wide-spread impacts to ecosystems and communities around the world. The significance of these tree planting exercises is our commitment to protecting the planet and preserving its natural resources for generations to come. By planting trees, our youth volunteers are not only mitigating the impacts of climate change but also creating green spaces that enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, and secure our water sources.
During Phase 3 the Kisumu chapter planted 450 seedlings at various locations:
In Phase 1 and 2 the following number of seedlings were planted:
1. Nairobi – 2,500
2. Nakuru – 1,500
3. Bomet – 550
4. Kakamega – 100
5. Thika – 100
6. Eldoret – 1500
7. Narok – 500
The total for the three Phases of the National tree planting campaign is a significant 7,200 seedlings. Together, let’s plant the seeds of change and cultivate a greener, more sustainable world for future generations.
