On 10th April 2015, BAPS Charities Nairobi donated water, juice and biscuits to support the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) who are providing assistance to the families of victims from the dreadful terrorist attack at the Garissa University College. At least 148 people died in the attack, that took place on 2nd April, 2015. KRCS is assisting in various operations such as psychosocial support services, tracing and restoration of family links, as well as receiving donations and distribution to the victims’ families. The family members who have been waiting for days at the Chiromo Mortuary to identify or trace their loved ones still show feelings of anxiety, tension, agitation, and confusion. The KRCS counsellors are on site and continue to reassure the relatives and offer emotional support.
BAPS Charities donated 864 bottles of drinking water, 360 juice packets and 10 cartons of biscuits for the friends and relatives still waiting to find their loved ones.
