Hundreds of people were displaced and over a hundred and fifty houses were razed to the ground after a fire at Kaptagat Slums, Kangemi, on 15th April 2015. Property, documents, and multiple household items were destroyed. BAPS Charities Nairobi collaborated with the Kenya Red Cross Society to assist in the rehabilitation. 60 blankets and 480 kgs of maize flour were donated to aid the local residents affected.
