Supporting the Agape Hope Centre – BAPS Charities, Nairobi

As part of its Education and Community outreach initiative BAPS Charities Nairobi donated school books and toys on Sunday 8th December 2013 to the Agape Hope Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. The Agape Hope Centre is a community-based organization which was founded as an initiative to assist orphans and vulnerable children in the community—especially those affected by HIV/AIDS. The centre provides the children with an environment in which they may grow to their full potential and become responsible adults who can support themselves and their families.

The BAPS Charities volunteer team was accompanied by the Books sponsors Mr and Mrs Kim Patel of Jyoti Bindu Publications (JBP). JBP donated 15 sets of English and Maths Text Books with Revision Guides for Nursery School to Standard 8. The toys were generously donated by Harishbhai Kanabar of BAPS

The Primary school caters for approximately 200 needy and destitute children from the nearby Kawangware slum and also includes 65 children who live in the orphanage itself. The founder of the centre, Mr Olivier Chiraba gave a Vote of Thanks to the Sponsors as well as BAPS Charities and promised to take good care of the generous donation for many years to come.
