The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the lives of all Americans. While Charlotte, NC and most other communities across the country adjust to a new and unexpected “normal”, healthcare professionals, in particular, have gone above and beyond in these unprecedented times, sacrificing their personal safety and time with their loved ones to care for patients. To support their incredible efforts and show appreciation, BAPS Charities donated $5,000 to Novant Health Medical Center in Matthews, NC on May 11, 2020.
In attendance to accept the contribution were Development Manager Cullen Jones and Chief Nursing Officer Tracy Forster. Mr. Jones shared, “We are incredibly thankful for this grant. One of the things we’ve done with Novant is that we’ve established a COVID-relief fund. These funds will be used to benefit the folks that are in the greatest need and will be targeted for our employees that have faced many challenges and have been impacted the greatest by this pandemic whether that be through direct financial support or whether that be because of health or illness. On behalf of Novant Health, I want to say thank you to BAPS Charities.” In expressing her appreciation, Ms. Forster added, “We are impressed by what all BAPS Charities has done globally and for our local community. We are honored and humbled by this gift”
BAPS Charities is thankful to all of its volunteers, for their continuous support amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to this donation, BAPS Charities has organized and implemented several online awareness campaigns for the community on how to stay safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the spirit of service, BAPS Charities volunteers throughout North America and globally are continuing to assess situations in their communities to find ways to help.
