On September 17, 2013, SickKids celebrated the official opening of the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning (PGCRL). Now home to over 2,000 researchers, trainees and staff, the 21-storey state-of-the-art research space makes it one of the largest international beacons of innovation and excellence in paediatric health research.
Inside the PGCRL, researchers working on related child health issues will be in close proximity to one another in what are called “neighbourhoods.” Spanning two to three floors and connected by a spine of open concept atrium spaces, these neighbourhoods are encouraging collaboration among researchers, seeding ground-breaking new ideas that will transform the future of child health for generations to come.
BAPS Charities has proudly supported the construction of the PGCRL and the incredible researchers that will conduct ground-breaking research in the building with a commitment of $100,000.
