As the number of COVID-19 cases continue to increase in Canada, healthcare workers and essential service personnel remain crucial to combatting the pandemic on the front lines. To support them, BAPS Charities donated 2,000 N95 masks and 10,000 nitrile disposable gloves to medical clinics and essential service facilities throughout Southern Ontario including Etobicoke, Brampton, Woodbridge, Mississauga, Oakville, Scarborough, Barrie and Cambridge.
One of the grateful recipients was the Woodbridge Medical Centre Family Health Team. Maureen Mueller, Clinical Lead and Family Practice Nurse at Woodbridge Medical Centre said, “On behalf of Woodbridge Medical Centre Family Health Team, I would like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to BAPS Charities for your donation of N95 respirator masks to our clinic. This donation enables us to continue to serve our community during this difficult and challenging time, while maintaining the safety of our patients and care team. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts – we truly appreciate it!”
Chandrakant Sachdev, Director of BAPS Charities, Canada, expressed, “As the economy begins to slowly reopen, we notice that smaller health care clinics and those providing essential services also require PPE. We are happy to be able to donate these N95 masks and nitrile gloves to support and protect these frontline workers who are serving local communities in Southern Ontario.”
