Due to a rising number of COVID-19 cases throughout Toronto, many healthcare facilities combating the pandemic face possible shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE). As a result of these potential shortages, PPE needs of local law enforcement get overlooked. The lack of PPE seriously affects the ability of police officers to protect themselves as they serve our communities.
In gratitude and recognition of the heroic services provided by our police officers, BAPS Charities donated 20,000 nitrile disposable gloves to the Toronto Police Service. Appreciating the donation, Sergeant Jared Babineau said, “The service was thrilled and grateful to have BAPS Charities support for our frontline officers.”
BAPS Charities chapters worldwide continue to assess the impact of COVID-19 and provide support via financial and food donations to impacted communities and organizations.
